Meet the Gobblesplot Team

Small team. Large universe.

Gobblesplot Publishing is an independent publisher built around original stories, creative control and the belief that reality is probably being managed by the wrong department.

Peter Agambar

Founder, Author and Publisher

Peter Agambar founded Gobblesplot as a name in 2007, long before it became a publishing imprint.

After more than forty years working in software engineering, public services, healthcare and systems allegedly designed to make life easier, he began applying that experience to fiction.

Peter writes absurd British science-fiction comedy, children’s fiction and more serious novels about people, pressure, memory and the consequences of badly designed systems.

His published work includes The Universe vs Alan and The Universe vs Sid, part of The Administrative Handbook for Reality series.

Current projects include MIRRORS, Force 8 and further books from the increasingly unstable administrative structure of reality.

He is responsible for writing, publishing, website management, cover decisions, metadata, ISBNs, marketing and asking why the form requires information already entered on the previous page.

The Gobblesplot chicken logo

The Gobblesplot Chicken

Unofficial Mascot and Senior Poultry Adviser

The Gobblesplot chicken was not part of the original business plan.

It arrived during the development of the publishing logo and immediately demonstrated more confidence than the marketing department.

Its responsibilities include appearing unexpectedly, supervising roast-related design decisions and maintaining the correct level of unnecessary absurdity.

It has not yet submitted an invoice.

Friends, readers and reluctant advisers

Independent publishing rarely happens entirely alone.

Friends, family, early readers and fellow writers provide feedback, encouragement and the occasional essential warning that a joke has travelled several paragraphs beyond its lawful stopping distance.

Their contribution helps Gobblesplot’s books become clearer, stronger and only slightly less dangerous before publication.
